The Parents' Association is a volunteer organization that consists of all parents and legal guardians of Laboratory Schools children. The association fosters a spirit of community through the facilitation of communication and cooperation among the Laboratory Schools' parents, administration, faculty, students, and board of directors, and assists in the implementation of school activities.

Middle School Parent to Parent Programs Coming May 1st & 8th
Evelina Pereira-Webber, a certified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist will join Middle School parents and guardians for two Parent to Parent programs. The evening will allow parents of middle schoolers to meet each other, exchange ideas, share parenting strategies and discuss how issues are handled in individual families.
7th/8th grade Parent to Parent is Thursday May 1, 2008
5th/6th grade Parent to Parent is Thursday May 8, 2008
Both programs run from 7-8:30 pm in Judd 126

PA Nomination Extended Until May 1
Twelve positions are open for the PA Board. Whatever your skills or interests, you should be able to find a position to match them. Accounting, economics—how about treasurer? Love to be involved with the principal, parents, faculty, and kids of your child’s school? We have openings on each of the four school councils. To read descriptions for all the positions available click By-Laws at left.
The positions open are:
President-Elect
Secretary-Elect
Treasurer-Elect
Communications Coordinator-Elect
Fundraising Coordinator-Elect
Volunteer Coordinator-Elect
Programs Coordinator-Elect
One representative for each of the following councils: N/KG, Lower School, and Middle School Councils
Two representatives for the High School Council.
You need to complete a nominations form and submit it by May 1, 2008. To obtain the form go to the PA website, select administrative forms, and then Nominations Form. Don’t want to run, but you know someone who would be good? You can nominate someone else!
Volunteers are also needed for the Nominations Committee to help with interviewing candidates, compiling the ballot, etc. Please contact Joan Simmons, Secretary-Elect, if you’re willing to help.
